Healing Face Mask

Have you ever heard of bentonite clay? It's actually the weathered ash from volcanoes and is an age-old method for treating the skin, among other things.

Believe it or not, it produces an electrical charge when it's mixed with liquid. Because of this, it acts as a magnet and removes toxins and heavy metals that our skin comes into contact with.

It's inexpensive (especially compared to trendy alternatives out there), effective (look at some of those Amazon reviews!), and non-toxic (meaning, no unnecessary additives, fragrances, or other unquestionable ingredients!).

You can either mix it with water or apple cider vinegar (although I have heard it's more effective with ACV so I've only used this approach). To be honest, it doesn't give off the most pleasant scent. I mean, it's apple cider vinegar after all... but it's completely bearable and worth it!

For sensitive skin, leave on for 5 - 10 minutes. Otherwise, 15 - 20 minutes should be long enough for the clay to dry on your face. Then it's ready to be washed off with warm water! Be gentle with your skin - no need to scrub. Let the water do most of the work. I like to apply it before a shower once or twice a week!

It can easily be found on Amazon or at a health foods store like Sprouts. You get a whole pound of it for less than $10. I haven't done the math (and don't plan to), but that's a lot of facials for not a lot of money!

Let me know if you try it out! I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)
